My name is Steve Destri. I am a 7th grade social teacher and a track and cross country coach. I have been involved with sports my entire life. I have been a runner since junior high. In the past few years I began to have problems with my neck and knees. My neck would hurt about 10 minutes into a run. My knees would begin to get sore if I ran more than two days in a row. I figured that my running days were probably over. Then something happened that changed my life.

On my first day of summer vacation in June of 2001 I was walking by AlignLife after a spinning class. AlignLife was having some type of promotion. I remember thinking to myself what do I have to lose. I still wanted to run, even thought my doctor had told me it was time to move on to a low impact activity. I was immediately impressed with the way the office functioned. My mother worker as an office manager for a group of doctors her entire career. I have been to quite a few offices in my life and this was the first one that reminded me of my moms. The office was warm, friendly, and efficient.

After x-rays and a complete consultation it was determined that I had two subluxations in my spine. The one in my neck was quite advanced and the one in my lower back was moderate. The one in my lower back was causing me discomfort that felt like a hernia. I began three treatments a week with Dr Esposito. The hernia feeling I had been experiencing for about three months disappeared after a few adjustments. It has never returned. My neck began to improve drastically in a month. Dr. Joe began to adjust my feet and knees occasionally and fitted me with orthotics. My knee problems immediately improved. I am running pain free again and loving every moment!

I have been going to AlignLife for almost 10 months. The AlignLife office is an even warmer and more efficient than when I first stepped in the door. A week (heck probably a day) does not go by that I don’t tell someone how chiropractic care has changed my life. I feel like I’m 18 again. My neck is fantastic. I was playing basketball recently and could not believe how well I was seeing the floor. Why? Because I probably have never had this type of flexibility in my neck. Hey, Dr. Joe where you when I was in high school? I probably would have averaged four more assists per game. My teammates thought I was greedy. I just couldn’t see them on the court the way I do now!

I am always recommending AlignLife to anyone that will listen. The athletes I coach, their parents, my co-workers, and my friends.
